Operation Steel Talon takes place in the Red Shadow world.
Premise: The US Forces were able to prevent the American Republic forces from securing their base which halted the advance south towards Colorado Springs. This stalemate in the mountains has caused the American Republic to focus on other strategies. And the siege of Denver has begun. The US Forces were forced to expend too much man power and still is not receiving the reinforcements it needs. Highways, rail lines and airfields have become a commodity that must be protected if the US hopes to take back Denver.
What is the Red Shadow Series?
The Red Shadow Milsim (Military Simulation) series is a fictional world based on the idea of what if Red Dawn happened. Red Dawn was a movie from 1984 starring Patrick Swayze and Charlie Sheen, where the dawn of the 3rd World War began and an group of teenagers band together to defend their Colorado home from the invading Soviet Forces. So the Soviets have invaded the US mainland. The Red Shadow series picks up from here. The majority of the Soviet attacks were focused on the west coast, and while the fighting was fierce and decimated a large portion of the local population eventually a new soviet state was created, the American Republic. After a decade of an uneasy truce, the American Republic again began their attacks on the US Boarder of the divide in 2008. Despite having lost a large portion of the nation, the United States of America still remained one of the primary World powers operating a far as well as on the home front. In 2007, the US Army began a campaign to eliminate several warlords in the Pakistan / Afghanistan region that were causing crimes against humanity and were beginning to cause severe problems for the US and her allies in the area. This was called Operation Sudden Strike.
Operation Sudden Strike has been a controversial military operation, after 3 years of US Forces trying to control the region and defeat the Warlords progress if any has been small. The local Warlord Forces have been able to stop everything the US has been able to throw at them, and several supporters for the effort now criticize that the US forces are over extended and that it would be better to bring them home and fight off the American Republic that is on their doorstep.
